1. Where This Policy Applies

This Privacy Policy applies to the ExpenseManager mobile application, available on the Apple App Store. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy. We are committed to protecting your financial privacy through a local-first design where your financial data is stored exclusively on your device.

2. Our Privacy Commitment

ExpenseManager is designed with privacy as a core principle. We believe personal financial data is deeply sensitive and belongs exclusively to you. All financial data—including transactions, accounts, budgets, bills, receipts, and financial goals—is stored locally on your device only. Your data does not leave your device and is not transmitted to any external server under normal operation.

3. Information We Collect

ExpenseManager is a local-first personal finance app that does not require account creation with us and does not collect any personal financial information.

We do NOT collect:

Your financial data (transactions, account balances, budgets, bills, receipts, goals)
Your name, email address, or contact information (unless you voluntarily email us for support)
Your location or GPS data
Device identifiers or advertising IDs
Your transaction history or spending patterns
Household member information or shared financial data
Any analytics or behavioral tracking data

All financial data processing and storage occurs entirely and exclusively on your device.

4. How the App Works

ExpenseManager operates in a completely local, device-first manner:

Local Data Storage Only: All your financial data is stored exclusively on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. No data is sent to external servers.
On-Device Receipt Processing: Receipt scanning uses Apple's VisionKit framework and on-device machine learning models. Receipt images are processed only on your device and are not sent to any server or to Apple's servers. Apple does not access your receipt images.
Offline Operation: You do not need an internet connection to use ExpenseManager. All core functionality operates offline.
No Cloud Sync: Your data is stored exclusively on your device. There is no automatic cloud backup or synchronization.
User Settings: App preferences and settings are stored locally on your device only.

5. Device Permissions

ExpenseManager requests the following device permissions:

Camera: Required only for receipt scanning when you choose to scan a receipt. We do not access your camera without your explicit action.

Receipt images captured through the camera are processed on your device only and are never stored by us or transmitted to external servers.

6. Data Export (Optional)

You may manually export your financial data in CSV or JSON formats through the App's export feature for personal backup or analysis. Exported data is stored only where you direct it and is not sent to us. We are not responsible for managing or securing exported files.

7. Apple App Store Analytics

When you download ExpenseManager through the Apple App Store, Apple may collect information as part of their platform operations, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy, not ours.

If you have opted into sharing App analytics with developers through iOS Settings, Apple may share aggregated and anonymized crash data and usage statistics with us. This data sharing is OFF by default. You can change this setting at any time in Settings > Privacy > Analytics. This data:

Does not personally identify you
Does not include your financial data
Is used solely to improve app stability and performance
Is never shared with third parties

8. Firebase Remote Configuration

ExpenseManager uses Google Firebase to manage in-app features such as review prompts and notifications. When you launch the app, your device contacts Firebase to retrieve configuration settings. Firebase may collect technical data including:

Anonymous device identifiers (IDFA if enabled)
Device type and OS version
App version and installation time
Timestamps and basic usage information

This connection:

Does not transmit any of your financial data
Only fetches non-personalized feature settings
Is governed by Google Firebase's Privacy Policy at https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy/
Provides data protection equal to our own privacy practices

9. Third-Party Services

ExpenseManager minimizes third-party integrations to protect your privacy:

No third-party analytics services beyond Firebase remote configuration
No advertising networks or tracking SDKs
No advertisements in the App
No data brokers receive your financial information
Apple's first-party frameworks only (VisionKit, StoreKit, etc.)

10. What Happens If You Contact Us

If you contact us at feedback.sfsk@gmail.com for support, any information you provide is:

Used only to address your specific request
Not stored in any database
Not shared with third parties
Deleted within 30 days after your issue is resolved

Do not include sensitive financial information in support emails unless absolutely necessary.

11. Household Collaboration

ExpenseManager supports household collaboration by allowing family members to share financial tracking. When household features are enabled:

Shared financial data is stored on each member's device
Data is shared between members through local synchronization, not external servers
You are responsible for ensuring all members consent to data sharing

12. Data Retention and Deletion

Data Retention: Your financial data is retained for the lifetime of the app's installation on your device. When you uninstall the app, all associated data stored locally is deleted by iOS.

User-Initiated Deletion: You can delete any transaction, account, or other data at any time directly within the App. You can delete all app data using the "Delete all data" feature in the App's settings. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.

Data Requests: Since we store no data on external servers, there is no personal data for us to retrieve, correct, or delete. All your data is exclusively under your control on your device.

13. Device Security

Since your financial data is stored only on your device, its security depends on your device's security:

Use a strong device passcode and keep iOS updated with security patches
Use the App's optional biometric lock (Face ID / Touch ID) for additional protection
Do not share your device with untrusted parties
Regularly export your data if you wish to maintain a separate backup copy

14. Your Data Rights and Control

You have complete control over your data:

Access: You can view all your data within the App at any time
Modification: You can edit or update any data directly in the App
Deletion: You can delete any individual transaction or data immediately. Use "Delete all data" in settings to clear everything, or uninstall the App to remove all data from your device.
Export: You can export all your data in CSV or JSON format for your personal records at any time

15. App Store Privacy Label

The privacy practices disclosed in the App Store Privacy Label are accurate and represent the actual data collection and use practices of ExpenseManager. The privacy label shows that ExpenseManager collects no personal data and does not share data with third parties for marketing purposes. 16. Children's Privacy

ExpenseManager is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages, including children under 13. The App contains no inappropriate content and no advertisements. Parents may use ExpenseManager to teach children about money management. Because we do not collect any personal data from anyone, all users including children have the same strong privacy protections. Parents retain control through iOS parental controls and device security settings. For children under 13, parental consent is required before using any features involving data sharing.

17. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. If we make material changes that reduce your privacy protections, we will notify you through the App before the changes take effect. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
